Eric Ihde
Band
Mr. Ihde
ihdeeric@aasd.k12.wi.us

Mr. Ihde has been teaching music in the Appleton schools since 2002 and has been at Kaleidoscope Academy since 2007. Eric received his Bachelor of Music in Instrumental and Vocal Music Education from Saint Olaf College in Minnesota and his Master of Music Education at VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, Illinois.

Eric comes to work each day excited to be able to work with all of his students. He enjoys challenging students to work hard on something so that they can look back and truly appreciate their efforts. Band is fun but it should also be a challenge. The fun comes from succeeding at the challenge.

Outside of school Eric is a busy guy. He is married and has three children. His family enjoys playing games, watching movies, going biking and just about anything musical.

Mr. Ihde stays involved musically outside of school as well. He directs the adult choir and handbell choir at his church, Saint Paul Lutheran. He also plays Euphonium in the Appleton City Band in the summer and is a proud member Vento Winds. As you can see by his example music is much more than a class in school. It’s something you can enjoy for your entire life!

Art, Choir, Dance, and Theatre

Kristine Glenn
TheatreMs. Glenn

glennkristine@aasd.k12.wi.us

After graduating from Lawrence University in 1996 with a BA in Theatre, Kristine worked at Lawrence University’s Office of Admissions as Operations Coordinator, eventually pursuing teaching certification. She then taught high school English and drama for two years at both Hortonville High School and Saudi Arabian International School in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She and her husband followed that with a move to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, where she taught middle school English and drama for one year, coming home early in June 2005 to give birth to her first son and to reconnect with family. She now has two beautiful boys and a permanent home in Appleton.

Being a stay-at-home mom was her primary job for 11 years, but life was not without activities. She taught ELA summer school for two years; served on Attic’s Board of Directors for three years, chairing the Education Committee; and consultant for Norwex, a natural cleaning organization.

In 2016, she jumped back into the classroom, teaching 8th grade Logic at Classical School. Why not? Kristine also teaches piano and voice lessons both at home and at the Appleton Music Academy. In her free time, she enjoys singing, theatre, gardening, cross-stitching, playing with her cats and children, yoga, and reading…to name a few.

She is honored to be a part of such a dedicated, hard-working community that strives for the highest level of excellence!

Annette Koepke
Art & TheaterMrs. Koepke
koepkeannette@aasd.k12.wi.us

Henry Thoreau once wrote, “The world is but a canvas to our imagination”. As the Art/Theater teacher here at Kaleidoscope Academy, Mrs. Koepke gets the opportunity every day to do what she loves; create, learn and inspire.

Every day she has had the opportunity to see her students grow in their creative process to create some beautiful works of art and wonderful performances. She enjoys seeing how students take the projects that are presented and interpret them into something uniquely theirs.  Art can look, feel and mean something different to every person.

Mrs. Koepke received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from UW-Oshkosh in 2012. UW-Oshkosh provided her with an expansive skill set in a variety of artistic mediums. She spends a lot of her free time exploring her favorite mediums.

She gets asked all the time what her favorite medium is and the truth is, she just can’t decide. She states, “I love them all!” Along with creating and expanding her own art skills, she enjoys spending time with her husband Adam (who is also an artist), watching “cheesy” horror movies, being outdoors, grilling and spending time with family and friends.
