Born and raised in Stillwater, Minnesota, Mrs. Wordell has always had a love for Wisconsin and its sports teams; she is an avid Packers’ fan and was able to be close to her Packers by attending the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on a full scholarship for Nordic Skiing.  While at UW-Green Bay, she persuaded a degree in Elementary Education.

Mrs. Wordell’s first teaching job was in Brillion, WI, where she spent the next three years and obtained her license in special education, with an emphasis in Emotional Behavioral Disability.  She enjoyed being a special education teacher, but knew her passion was more in math and science!

Mrs. Wordell loves being at Kaleidoscope Academy.  She feels blessed with the opportunities she has been given, appreciates all the staff that support her, the students who keep her on her toes, and the great technology the school has to offer!

In addition to teaching, Mrs. Wordell loves the outdoors. She is a great fisher-woman! She still enjoys Nordic skiing in addition to camping, hiking, biking and competing in triathlons. Not only does Mrs. Wordell enjoy being a competitor in sports, she also enjoys coaching youth sports.

As one of the Humanities teachers at Kaleidoscope Academy, Mrs. Freville brings a wealth of life experience to her classroom. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English writing and Journalism from UW-Whitewater, worked as an assistant editor for a trade publication and slowly found her way as a Special Needs advocate after becoming a parent. She is currently working toward a Master’s degree from Concordia University in Teaching and Learning, with a teaching license in Elementary Education as well as a Secondary Education license in English Language Arts.

While she may have arrived as a teacher later in her life, all of her many journeys have led her here. Teaching the amazing students at Kaleidoscope Academy has been her dream and goal. The student-centered, project based, Inquiry driven teaching philosophy that makes KA amazing, is the only philosophy Mrs. Freville knows how to do. She’s passionate about learning and diversity, loving her students, is an advocate for inclusion and works diligently to partner with her students and their families in setting and achieving learning goals through incorporating grit and high expectations.

Mrs. Freville has been married to her Mister for 15 years, with three truly loved and treasured children. She is an avid reader, lifelong learner and a Harry Potter aficionado. In her spare time, Mrs. Freville loves to create sweet playlists, Mom dance in the kitchen with her kids, play trivia with friends, spend time in the amazing Wisconsin outdoors hiking, camping and reading while her family goes fishing. A perfect evening would include sitting around a campfire, drinking warm cider or coffee and just spending quality time with her loved ones.
