Mrs. Bauer is a Library Media Specialist in the Appleton School District and is currently working at Huntley Elementary and Kaleidoscope Academy. Mrs. Bauer has been working in education since August of 2002 when she began her career as an instrumental music teacher after graduating from Lakeland College and receiving a degree in Instrumental Music Education. She then received a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University in 2011.   From 2015 to 2018, Mrs. Bauer attended University of Wisconsin Oshkosh to complete a licensure program to become a Library Media Specialist and accepted a Library Media Position for grades K-8.  She began working for the Appleton Area School District in 2019.  Mrs. Bauer has also taught in the Colby School District and the Oshkosh Area School District. Mrs. Bauer loves reading books to children and finds joy in seeing the smile on the faces of children of all ages who just finished reading a book they love.  She also works hard to understand technology and digital literacy, as well as digital citizenship.  Mrs. Bauer works hard to find information and ways to teach students the importance of a good digital footprint. Outside of school, Mrs. Bauer loves spending time outside with her husband and two children.  They enjoy spending time in the woods, hiking, fishing and camping.

Ms. Baer is the paraprofessional in the Library Media Center who started in the LMC  during the 2020-2021 school year. Before that she worked in the building as an EBD classroom paraprofessional.  Ms. Baer is from Appleton and graduated from Appleton West in 1999. She has a degree in Early Childhood education which she received from Southwest Minnesota State University. Until the 2018-19 school year, she worked in the Early Childhood field.Ms. Baer and her husband Travis have three children who attend school in Kaukauna and two fur children. When not at school, she is active with her church teaching 3rd grade Midweek and Sunday School or with Girl Scout Troop which she helps to co-lead having fun in the great outdoors. 

Chris HiltgenMr. Hiltgen

Mr. Hiltgen is the Chromebook ParaPro and splits time between Kaleidoscope and Einstein.  He has been coaching, volunteering, and now working in the Appleton Area School District since 1995. Mr. Hiltgen is originally from Tilleda, WI and earned a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Mathematics and Astrophysics in 1990. He lives in Appleton and likes to volunteer as the videographer for football and girls soccer at Appleton West. Mr. Hiltgen is married, Amy, has 3 kids, and enjoys playing golf with all of them. He also enjoys traveling, going to Badger football games, and going to the family cottage with his family all year round.

Amber Szekeres

Ms. Szekeres is a Technology Integration Specialist for the Appleton Area School District, working with Roosevelt, Kaleidoscope, Einstein, Classical Charter and Appleton Public Montessori.  

She has been with the district since 2014.  As a technology integrator, Ms. Szekeres’ goal is to help all teachers integrate learning-focused, value-added technology into their classroom in a consistent district-wide manner.  She also develops lessons and co-teaches with teams to better address the needs of all students.

Before coming to Appleton, Ms. Szekeres taught 6th Grade English Language Arts, Social Studies and Reading in Minocqua, Wisconsin.  She did her undergrad work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her teaching degree from Marian University. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and being outdoors.
