Kaleidoscope Academy offers opportunities for students to engage in accelerated and self-paced math at any point during their three years here. When students demonstrate the necessary skills and readiness, they can begin working on an accelerated pathway that matches their abilities and learning goals.

We have on-going access to eSchool, a virtual AASD charter school, where students can take other accelerated classes. In some instances, parents transport their child to the high school at the beginning/end of each school day to take advantage of higher level courses.

Yes. While students often share that high school can feel less engaging than their time at KA, they consistently report feeling well-prepared for high school and beyond. They leave KA with strong skills in self-direction, problem-solving, communication, organization, and critical thinking, which serve them well in their academic and personal lives.

While no school can guarantee the complete absence of bullying, Kaleidoscope Academy prioritizes building a culture where students feel safe, respected, and valued. Our motto, “Express Yourself,” guides our commitment to creating an environment where students can pursue their interests and passions without judgment.

We emphasize that “it’s cool to care,” and our staff and students actively work to ensure that concerns are addressed promptly and that every student feels supported. We make sure each student has at least one trusted adult they can reach out to for help.

We recognize that the transition to middle school is a significant change. To support our incoming sixth graders and new students, we offer summer orientation opportunities and provide additional support during the first weeks of school.

Our sixth-grade projects and learning experiences are intentionally structured to help students adapt to the hands-on, project-based learning environment while developing independence and confidence.

Kaleidoscope Academy offers students voice and choice in their learning, including a wide range of elective courses not typically available in traditional middle schools. Through hands-on, project-based learning, students engage in flexible, student-centered experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving skills.

We focus on developing the “whole child,” understanding that academic success is closely tied to students’ social and emotional well-being. Our learning environment is designed to help students thrive academically while growing into confident, capable individuals.
