Our School
Welcome to Kaleidoscope Academy, located within the historic Roosevelt building in Appleton!
We are a 6-8 middle school that engages young adolescents in their learning through inquiry-based projects and personalized learning with the assistance of dedicated, passionate staff.
Mission Statement
Kaleidoscope Academy strives to engage middle school students in their learning through inquiry based projects and personalized learning using a balance of fine arts and 21st Century Skills.
Kaleidoscope Academy:
✨ Project-Based, Hands-On Learning
Students engage in meaningful, real-world projects that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and curiosity. They learn to solve problems with multiple solutions while seeing clear connections between what they learn and how it applies beyond school.
✨ Arts Integration and Elective Choice
KA offers a unique middle school experience with integrated arts and a wide range of electives, including band, orchestra, choir, coding, and theater. Students can explore multiple interests, even participating in multiple ensembles if they wish, fostering creativity and personal growth.
✨ Student-Centered, Personalized Approach
Teachers get to know each student personally, understanding their strengths, interests, and needs. This caring, family-like environment supports both academic and social-emotional growth, ensuring students feel connected and valued.
✨ Preparing Students for the Future
From advanced technology and coding experiences to “Teen Choices” classes that teach life and career skills, KA equips students with tools and confidence for high school and beyond—helping them discover passions they may carry into future careers.
✨ Innovative, Whole-Child Focus
KA values academic excellence alongside mental health and social-emotional well-being. By addressing the whole child, students are better prepared to take in learning and become confident, independent thinkers in a safe, supportive environment.
✨ Community and Belonging
Students and families describe KA as a place where you can walk up to any teacher for a conversation, feel known and supported, and grow in confidence through experiences like theater, collaborative projects, and real-world challenges.
Message from the Principal

I can’t wait to get the school year started in my fifth year as principal here at Kaleidoscope Academy. We worked hard over the past four years to strengthen our charter vision and mission. We are dedicated to being a place where students have a voice and choice in their learning through hands-on projects, inquiry-based learning, arts integration, and numerous elective classes to best suit their needs.
Additionally, we have worked hard to build a culture where students feel like they can live the motto “Express Yourself.” Students feel the comfort and freedom to express their learning and growth in ways that feel most natural.
Through our charter contract, we are able to engage in teaching and learning practices differently and in a more innovative way in order to best meet the needs of the young adolescents who walk through our doors each day.
Kaleidoscope Academy attracts staff members who are willing to think outside the box, go above and beyond for students, and provide an overall exceptional educational experience. We are so excited to welcome you and your child to Kaleidoscope for the upcoming school year. It’s going to be the best school year yet!
I look forward to meeting you. Never hesitate to reach out to provide feedback, ask questions, set up a time to meet, or schedule a visit to the school. The partnerships we have with parents and families is a critical part of what makes us successful here at Kaleidoscope.
Sincerely,
Alexandra Molitor
Principal
